Okay, so not Vlad, but Cris. Born in Romania (Transylvania to be exact), the dev behind Vlad the Emailer isn't as Dracula-esque as the huge conglomerates that usually offer this type of platform. We're not a time vampire, sucking up your workday with fiddly features you don't need so that we can charge more and then leaving you hanging when you need help. In fact, if you reply to one of our email updates, Cris will actually get it. And respond. Forget no-reply inboxes here. One of the benefits of Vlad the Emailer is personal 1-2-1 communication and support, for devs, by a dev - if you need it. He's also content to just let you crack on, so don't think you'll get a tonne of marketing emails either.
What's the story behind
Vlad the Emailer?
All indie hackers own more domains than they could possibly ever use but this one was too good. Cris came up with the idea while listening to a podcast. They had mentioned Vlad the Impaler in some other context and then a few minutes later, emails. Cris instantly thought “Vlad the Emailer” - but that domain had to be taken, right? It wasn't. And just a few short months later, this streamlined dev-focused service was ready to launch.
At the moment, this is a very barebones service, by design. As a dev and indie hacker, Cris knows what email API services devs need (and what's just for the marketing suits upstairs). So, if you're just trying to get an app, store or service over the line and need a basic email service, Vlad has you covered. While the name is hilarious (and feel free to slap our cheeky logo all over your proposals), it's not a joke. Vlad the Emailer provides all the standard email API tools you need to start sending bulk transactional emails in minutes.
